 Selling: The Noble Profession

 oab seminar  As a child, how many of you wanted to be a salesperson when you grew up?   It probably wasn't on your list along with "Fireman", "Doctor" or "Cowboy".  Most of us never knew such a profession existed. Now, we are one!

 Actually, ALL of us are salespeople, whether we derive our income from commission or not.  Whether we succeed in what we do is directly dependent on our ability to sell ourselves, our ideas, our products.  Mr. Red Motley, a sales trainer from many years ago, said, "Nothing happens until something is sold."
 
All businesses would fail without sales.  Products wouldn't get manufactured without sales.
 
Advertising sales provide the grease on the wheels of the capitalistic system.  Businesses find a need, they manufacture a product to fill that need, they advertise that product, sell that product, make more product.  Along the way, jobs are created.
 
We should be proud of what we do!  Many of us have been led to believe that selling is a process of manipulation and intimidation.  It isn't.  Selling is the process of helping someone to meet a need.
 
So, sellers of the world, unite!  We make things happen!  We move economies ! Be PROUD of what we do!

 Arbitron's RADAR 101 National Radio Listening Report shows these highlights of radio listening:
  • Radio reaches 92% of persons 12+ each week
  • More than 94% of college graduates, ages 25-54, tune in every week
  • 92% of Black Non-Hispanics and 93% of Hispanic persons, age 12 and older, tune into radio weekly
  • Each week, radio reaches 93% of both black Non-Hispanics and Hispanics age 18-49.

A little about me.....

Pat Bryson has worked in the radio industry for over 25 years. During that time, she was one of the highest billing sales people in the radio industry in her market. She was promoted to General Sales Manager, managing and training both experienced and inexperienced sales people . Her career advanced to General Manager, where Pat  created a culture of over achievement for her stations.
 
Through Bryson Broadcasting International, Pat now helps her clients to create that same culture of over achievement in their stations.
