| California Closets | "One can never have enough storage"...most of us relate to those words, but none more so than Pathways' social workers who are charged with storing the many items that can be needed throughout the year for our children. The designated closet is always filled with items from clean clothing for children who decide to play in mud puddles, decorate themselves with the food they are supposed to be eating, need cuddly teddy bears for comfort, or need a warmer coat on a day suddently turned cold. Given the scale of items stored, keeping this closet organized has been a losing uphill battle.
So, Patty Pardee, Pathways' Facilities Manager, reached out to California Closets, to obtain a redesign estimate for this closet. Patty spoke with Kendra McGrath, a representative who just happened to be a Gloucester native. Although the design was impressive, Pathways was not in a position to make such a purchase. Kendra, having learned about Pathways through her design process, fiercely advocated for Pathways until the company agreed to donate the entire installed closet system.
California Closet's generosity did not stop there. Their Danvers showroom now has a link to Pathways. With any purchases made through this link, 10% of the purchase price will be donated to Pathways! We cannot thank Kendra and California Closets enough. |
| Treasures from the Attic | We are thrilled to announce Treasures from the Attic, Pathways for Children's Chic Yard Sale scheduled for Saturday, June 19th from 10:00AM - 3:00PM in the Gorton's Parking Lot located at 128 Rogers Street in Gloucester. Some amazing items that will be for sale and/or silent auction include a queen size rattan sleigh-bed frame, an array of artwork and a brand new Vesper motorbike. All Yard Sale proceeds will benefit the 2010 School Age Care summer program. Not only will you be able to purchase treasures, you will also be helping to create memorable summer experiences for the children of Pathways.
Treasures from the Attic will also serve as the kick-off for Pathways' Car Raffle with the winning ticket drawn in September! Just $100 will buy you a chance to win a new Mini-Cooper and will help raise funds to match a donor's generous gift of the purchase price of a new bus - thus enabling us to purchase a second bus and retire two whose "wheels have gone round and round" too many times. This will be one grand Yard Sale you cannot afford to miss!
