INTRODUCING Permanent Makeup
Get your mornings back!
We're proud to announce the addition of permanent cosmetics to the practice.
We're so excited to show our valued patients our appreciation, Faces First is offering:
$100 discount off any permanent cosmetics procedure booked during the month of August! Ever wanted to simply wake up with beautifully applied makeup that never smudges, smears, clogs your pores, or needs to be washed off?
If so, we invite you to schedule your complimentary consultation today.
- The procedure of permanent cosmetics consists of implanting micro-pigments into the dermal layer of the skin.
- We use physician formulated, dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic pigments for all procedures.
- This pigment is gently delivered into the skin using a precision digital machine specifically perfected for permanent cosmetics.
There are medically and cosmetically appealing aspects to permanent cosmetics:
- Those with hand injuries, arthritis or compromised vision can have difficulty applying makeup.
- Those suffering from alopecia, accidents, burns or chemotherapy treatments wishing to camouflage their hair loss can also benefit from permanent cosmetics.
- The procedure is also commonly used to aid in the restoration of color due to scarring, vitiligo, and areola loss from mastectomies.
But mostly, the majority of women simply enjoy the enhancement of their appearance without the daily hassle, and that's why permanent cosmetics are ever gaining in popularity. As people age, often their features pale, fade out. Drama can be added to the eyes, glamorous symmetry to the lips, and refinement to the brows.
If you have an active outdoor lifestyle and hate the feeling of runny, melty makeup, or are a constantly-busy professional who needs to look their best at all times under all circumstances, permanent makeup may be just the thing for you!

YOU DIDN'T AGE OVERNIGHT. . .
WHY ANTI-AGE OVERNIGHT?
WANT SUBTLE, NATURAL AND GRADUAL RESULTS?
TRY SCULPTRA® AESTHETIC FILLER
| At Faces First, 'Aging gracefully is equally important as holding back the hands of time'. Our double board-certified and fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeons seek to help our patients to accomplish both, with a seamlessly balanced and customized treatment for every client.
This month, Faces First spotlights Sculptra® Aesthetic, an injectable skin filler that plumps up skin that has lost its youthful suppleness. Unlike a surgical procedure or other drastic measure to rejuvenate the face, Sculptra® brings about a subtle change that looks natural and ensures that your face is still your face...only better!
Sculptra® is a great product, especially for those patients that are just starting to think about anti-aging measures but aren't sure where to start. This product is not an overnight miracle or a "quick-fix", nor is it even really like any other injectable treatment such as BOTOX®. Sculptra® is the first facial injectable that actually replaces lost collagen.
Sculptra® Aesthetic is a new type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which helps to:
- replace lost collagen.
- correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging.
The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been safely used by physicians for decades.
Different in the way that it works... Sculptra® goes to the source of facial aging Collagen is a key structural component that keeps skin youthful looking and smooth. As you age, your body's collagen production decreases, and you may begin to see wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth.
Sculptra® Aesthetic:
- Targets the underlying causes of the signs of facial aging.
- Is injected within the deep dermis in a series of treatments.
- Reinforces your skin's structure by replacing lost collagen.
- Produces a reinforced collagen structure which provides a foundation that gradually restores the look of facial fullness that has depleted over time.
The result is a refined, more youthful looking appearance that can last up to two years. - On average, three Sculptra injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months to bring about the incredible, natural results.
- Each session builds on the last to produce a more natural looking appearance that doesn't look like you've had work done.
August Special: Purchase 2 syringes of Sculptra® for $1300 ($1500 Value) | |

"Do I need an eye lift, brow lift or both?"
| WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR EYES, GET REJUVENATION IN "3-D"
Faces First's surgeons think of 'eye rejuvenation' as a '3-D process', in that the proper procedure for each patient must address the three "D's" of how the eye & face age. It's a process of effectively assessing the eye and brow area as it impacts the whole face in order to achieve balance.
The "3-D's" of eye rejuvenation address the following:- Dermal (Skin) How has aging affected the skin? As the largest organ in your body, your skin undergoes multiple changes, mostly due to sun damage and environmental insult.
- Descent (Laxity or droopiness) Laxity refers to the droopiness of certain structures due to the loss of elasticity and collagen that begins to rapidly occur in our 30s.
- Dimension (Volume) Volume refers to the loss of fat, muscle and bone that occurs with time and has a profound effect on the appearance of aged eyes.
With regards to the eyes, there are many different considerations:- There are your eyebrows, your upper eyelids, and your lower eyelids.
- Within each area, there are three things we need to consider when choosing a treatment: laxity, volume, and your particular skin.
- Any treatments you choose may affect one or all three of these factors of aging.
- A treatment plan that will give you the best result may involve choosing a combination of treatments that optimize laxity, volume and your skin condition.
What's first when it comes to restoring a youthful eye region? The Eyebrows: When evaluating your eyes, Faces First recommends you first consider the eyebrows. A youthful brow frames the eye in certain ways. Its volume is conveyed with fullness under the skin along the upper rim.
The feminine eyebrow typically starts on that bony rim towards the middle and arcs above the rim towards the sides. Unfortunately with age, the eyebrow and lid can have a deflated, hollowed appearance and the brow can become lax and droop, giving a more masculine appearance. Also, expressive muscle activity can contribute to defined 'worry lines' between the eyebrows.
3-D Eyebrow Rejuvenation: Non-Invasive Approach - Address laxity by repositioning the eyebrows with various brow-lifting techniques, including BOTOX® or Dysport® injections to relax brow depressors.
- Address lack of volume with fillers such as Restylane® or Juvederm injected under the brow and on the upper eyelid to fill in the hollows.
- Minimize expressive forehead lines with BOTOX® or Dysport®
- Improve texture and tone of the skin with chemical peels.
- Thinning, patchy or altogether gone, eyebrows can now be brought back to natural fullness using Latisse®, the eyelash solution.
Upper eyelids A youthful lid typically has a crease a few millimeters above the eyelashes, the skin is toned, and the lid is voluminous up to the brow. With time, the skin and tissues become lax leading to hooding of the skin onto the lashes, and the eye socket has a hollowed-out look as it loses volume.
- Upper blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) removes excess skin and muscle.
- Fillers or fat transfer can address volume loss, although herniated fat around the eyes may also be re-contoured during upper blepharoplasty.
- Expressive forehead lines as well as "crow's feet" may be reduced with fillers or resurfaced with peels.
Lower Eyelids Your lower eyelids are one of the first areas where aging can show, and the changes can be complex. A youthful lower eyelid has a good angulated position with toned skin and no shadowing. The profile should show a smooth contour continuous with the cheek. With time, loss of volume on the eyelid will reveal the bony rim and eyelid structures, with the appearance of circles and bags. Thinning of the tissues may reveal discoloration. Fine lines will develop with skin damage and constant expression such as smiling and squinting. - Excess skin and muscle can be removed with lower blepharoplasty (lower eyelid lift).
- Fillers or fat transfer injected on the lower eyelid will fill in hollows (aka Tear Troughs) and mask the bags under the eyes.

BIG PARTY PLANS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON? NOW IS THE TIME TO CONSULT ABOUT SURGICAL PROCEDURES With summer in full swing, it may be hard for most people to envision the busy holiday party season of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's as being near, but the surgeons at Faces First encourage their patients to start the consultation process for any kind of surgical procedure now to ensure that your results are picture perfect just in time for those parties.
Drs. Picerno & Cote remind us that "Mid to late summer is really the best time to get started with consultation and procedure assessment for those patients that are planning for the holidays. This way, the patient knows what to expect and exactly how long everything will take, and can get the procedure done with plenty of time to heal and look their best. Once late November hits, family gatherings begin and the party season starts, patients can then focus on those festivities instead of getting surgery, worrying about being 'noticeable', or waiting for their results to emerge from the swelling and discoloration often associated with surgical procedures."
So if you're thinking about any kind of facial rejuvenation or transformation in the very near future, call us today for your consultation. You will thank yourself later for getting that ball rolling now . . . This way, you can look effortlessly beautiful as you're running yourself ragged planning all those merry get-togethers!
| Sincerely, Dr. Nicolette Picerno Dr. Christopher Cote
