Autumn Celebration
in the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village
Saturday, October 27, 2012
10:00am-4:00pm
Step back in time as we celebrate the changing of the season. Join staff and friends of the Mayborn Museum Complex in the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village for special events and activities relating to life in the 1890s. Visitors can watch blacksmithing and cooking demonstrations, listen to live music, participate in school yard games and much more! Families can also take advantage of a Fall inspired photo opportunity. Vitek's BBQ will be available for purchase, so plan to spend the day.
Regular admission to the museum includes activities and events. Museum activities and events are free to all museum members and Baylor University students.
National Fossil Day
The National Park Service and the American Geological Institute are partnering to host the third annual National Fossil Day on October 17, 2012 during Earth Science Week. National Fossil Day is a celebration organized to promote public awareness and stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their scientific and educational value.
| |
To celebrate National Fossil Day, our very own Waco Mammoth Site is offering a Fall Fossil Festival on Saturday, October 20 from 10am-4pm. Check their Facebook page for more details.
