Special Events
Japanese Spring Festival
The Mayborn is proud to host Baylor's Japanese Student Association to celebrate the new season with a Japanese
Spring Festival on Saturday March 27, 2010 from 11am to 4pm. | The Spring Festival is also known as the "Sakura" Festival, taking its name from the Japanese
word for cherry blossoms. These colorful flowers are a symbol of the temporary nature of life in the Japanese
culture and are celebrated as a sign of spring in festivals around the world.
Join us in Waco's very own Spring Festival with exciting performances and demonstrations organized by the Japanese
Student Association. Watch a Taiko drum performance and enjoy demonstrations of origami, karate, and a traditional
tea ceremony. Participate in lots of fun games and learn about Japanese culture while celebrating the season at
the Mayborn!
