Join us on these Thursdays in June as we learn more about Leonardo, his machines and his interpretation of the world around him.
June 11: Machines in Motion
You don’t have to be a genius to work with gears, pulleys and levers. Come test your architectural skills as you build bridges, arches and your own magnificent structures. Stay for the afternoon and enjoy a story, watch a unicycle demonstration and meet our “visiting physicist” in the Simple Machines room.
June 18: Water
Don't worry, you don't need your swimsuit or pool toys to enjoy this day. Create a tornado, try on some swim fins, and learn how to train a "pet octopus"! Enjoy a movie, a story, or talk with a SCUBA expert. Come catch a wave!
June 25: Flight
There are no long lines to stand in to catch a day of “FLIGHT” at the Mayborn museum! Test your parachuting skills and create a feather helicopter. Fasten your seat belts and put your seats and tray tables in the full upright and locked positions...and the in flight movie is part of your ticket price! See you at the Mayborn.
NOTE: We're open from 10 - 8 on Thursdays, but the activities take place from 1 - 8pm.

Build a bridge, fire a catapult, make flying machines and more in this fantastic addition to our summer exhibit. Leonardo’s Workshop is a hands-on area for our visitors to explore Leonardo’s designs.
Created by the Witte Museum and brought to Waco by the Cooper Foundation.

Mystery object game! |
Just click on the picture to enter your guess. If that doesn't work,
email your answer to [email protected]
|
Each month we will post a mystery picture from the museum. All you need to do is click on it to tell us what it is. We will draw a winner from all the correct answers. The winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to our museum store and a Family Pass. Use it for your next visit or give it to someone who's never visited!
Congratulations to Suzanne Weems who correctly guessed that the picture in our
May e-newsletter
was of a sombrero from the People of the World room. Many people had the correct answer! Thanks to everyone who played.
We will announce this month's winner in our next Museletter...Good Luck!

This June, in honor of Father’s day, we are promoting all our gifts for Dads!
We’ve got woodkits of nearly every size and shape! First there’s da Vinci’s Self-Supporting Bridge, which can be built and rebuilt however often you like! We also have Trebuchets and Catapults galore, as well as the Catenary Arch and the Perpetual Motion Machine! You can make Dad feel just like the Master Engineer himself!
As a special bonus, we've got Ron Toms, the owner of RLT Industries, Inc., a small family-owned company that manufactures the catapults, bridges and other educational projects we sell in the store. He will be visiting the museum on June 6 from 12 - 3. Come meet him and talk about his fun products!
