NEW! Bones: An Exhibit Inside You has arrived at the Mayborn!
This exhibit creates awareness about our intriguing bone biology through a variety of engaging hands-on activities.
The exhibit is designed to help both children and adults understand the need for healthy bones and teach ways to accomplish that goal. Brought to you from the legendary Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Bones will be on display through February 17, 2008 in the Anding Traveling Exhibit Gallery.

Wings Across America presents: Fly Girls of WWII
This exhibit honors a brave group of young women that flew military aircraft during World War II. They were known as the WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots) and played an essential, but largely forgotten, role in American history. See some of their priceless uniforms, pictures, awards, a stirring video, and learn about their invaluable contributions on exhibition through January 22.

Cemetery Tour
Waco was shaped by those hearty pioneers who first settled the frontier Waco Village on the banks of the Brazos River. On Saturday, November 10, learn about the fascinating lives of these colorful early Wacoans on a guided cemetery tour through the First Street and Hebrew Rest Cemeteries! Beginning at 2:30, tours will depart every 15 minutes and will last approximately 1 hour.
To reserve your spot to see Waco history come alive in a very personal way, call Lanna Palmer at 254-710-7526. Click here for more information. |
Join us as we discuss the book The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. Told from heaven by a girl who was the victim of a brutal murder, it's more about life than death. It's about a family and a frayed marriage and a brother and sister growing up in the shadow of their older sister's murder. Helen Harris, professor of Death and Dying at Baylor, will lead the discussion of this beautiful and haunting book. |

Meet us in the second floor café on Thursday, November 8 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Click here or contact Frankie Pack at 254-710-1202 for more information.
This book is available in our museum store for the low price of $13.95! |
