FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Horizon Family Solutions now includes EBT (Evidence-based Treatment) Evaluations to all Visiting Programs and Schools

BEND, OREGON - APRIL 21, 2011 -

As a recent added member to the American Evaluation Association, located in Fairhaven, MA., Dore Frances, Ph.D. will be conducting EBT evaluations on all programs and schools she visits from California, to Louisiana to Florida.

These programs and schools are in a variety of settings, nationally, and many are working on new cutting edge developments in assisting children and families.

Parents and other professionals will be able to take advantage of these in-depth evaluations, which will be published. These evaluations involve assessing the strengths and weaknesses of programs, policies and personnel as to their effectiveness in assisting children, teens and young adults. Dr. Frances values efficient, effective, responsive, transparent, and socially responsible programs and schools.

Education, quality, and safety are just a few of the areas that are reviewed in these evaluations.

Dr. Frances wants to acknowledge the outstanding contributions and services of those assisting children and families and is working to design a "RESA Award of Excellence." Resources, Education, Solutions, Action.

HORIZON FAMILY SOLUTIONS "EXCELLENCE AWARD"

Recipients of the HORIZON FAMILY SOLUTIONS "RESA Award of Excellence" will be selected on the basis of their excellent reputation for producing consistent, long-term, positive results in their specific work with children, teens and young adults.

A network of Independent Educational Consultants who specialize in assisting children, families and young adults with special needs will review all evaluation findings and make the final recommendation for the "RESA Award of Excellence". The results of the in-depth evaluations will have their information published and will be available for parents and professionals to download.

These evaluations will include addiction treatment programs for children, aftercare programs for teens, boarding schools for children, eating disorder programs for teens, learning disability schools for children, preteen programs, therapeutic programs for teens, transport agencies, wilderness based programs for all ages, and young adult programs.

The Independent Educational Consultants involved in this process work for families.

Ethical standards commonly accepted within this profession prohibit receiving compensation in any form from a school or program for a referral.

As part of the evaluation process, programs and schools will be asked to submit four references from Independent Educational Consultants who have referred to and know enough about their school or program to give appropriate feedback. Programs, schools, transport agencies and other services who have passed this in-depth evaluation process will earn a "RESA Award of Excellence," and may proudly display it along with recognition from the American Evaluation Association in having an AEA Evaluator recommend their program.
