It is only when you exercise your right to choose that you can also exercise your right to change.

If you'd like to know what your choices have been, look at yourself and the life you have lived.
What you see is the result of the choices you've made.
But - your past doesn't have to define who you are today.
It's never too late to become the person you might have been.

You cannot manage your life if you do not manage yourself. You cannot manage yourself if you do not manage your choices. Manage your choices, and you will manage your life.

Greetings! I'm very excited about 2012. I mean, VERY excited. I have learned something in the past few years that I plan to use this year to implement powerful personal and professional changes. These changes aren't just about health, wealth or career; they are about WHO I am as a person and WHAT type of impact I want to have on those around me. Too often, it's easy for us to get caught up in the rat race or take a 'fall into the ditch'. When this happens, we are wrapped up in the same type of thinking that got us there in the first place. We focus on the day-to-day so much that our lifetime passes us by and we hardly notice. And, while I encourage you to be hopeful, I don't want you to confuse hope with making choices. HOPE is not a strategy. Choose something, anything that will propel you in the direction of your dreams. This year, I want to walk on that razor wire edge of 'being in the moment' AND recognizing that we are only here on this planet for a short time, so our lives must have VALUE. In closing, you may have noticed a change in the format of my email; but there's more to it. You will also see a change in the content. My topics and comments are going to be more about 'the business of life', and not just about business. I hope you enjoy the changes, and as always, your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas are always welcome. Email me at szink@SarahZink.com. |

The Funny Thing about Choices
The funny thing about life is that it's full of choices, but we don't always think of it that way. Every moment of every day, we get to choose our actions, our inactions, our attitude, our habits, our focus, and our direction.
What's sad to me, though, is that all too often, we don't realize that we don't have to be tomorrow what we are today. We don't have to be defined by our past.
Sure, sometimes we are limited by the mistaken choices we have made, but that still doesn't mean we can't live a life we can imagine and work toward. It's never too late to become the person we might have been.

Choose Relationships Carefully
Interestingly enough, many of us don't consider the fact that quite a few of our relationships are results of choices that we make.
We choose:
- Who to socialize with;
- Who to date;
- Who to marry.
Our relationship choices have a profound effect on the greater choices we make in our lives. If we are spending our lives with 'small thinkers' or negative people, our choices will reflect the influence from this type of thinking.
On the other hand, if we choose to spend our time with people who are better, faster, smarter and stronger than we are, we will begin to make choices that lift us up to these higher levels. Click HERE to listen to Sarah's radio show on "9 Ways Men and Women Communicate Differently" |

Choose Healthy Living
(Physical, Financial, Emotional)
It's easy to overlook the impact that the choices we make about our health, our money, and our emotions have on our lives.
Yet, in order to have a better tomorrow, you have to begin making healthy choices today.
A year from now, you'll wish you had begun saving money, or started walking, or made healthier emotional choices.
So - what's the holdup? Don't Wait! TODAY is the day to make one small change in your life. ONE. SMALL. CHANGE. By doing that one thing, you take the first step toward a healthier you.
Are you 'stuck' because you are a perfectionist?

Choose to Have Faith
This section isn't a discussion of religion; rather, I want to point you in the direction of choosing to have FAITH.
For me, faith involves a belief in God; however, for the sake of discussion, I want to broaden your thinking of faith to include having faith in something bigger than us. I'll call it 'the universe.'
I honestly believe that everything happens the way it's supposed to; and our ability to see the bigger picture and embrace the choices that lie before us give us power to move forward in stronger and healthier ways than ever before.
By having faith in the greater order of the universe, I believe that we change our thinking to begin a search for how we fit into that order. Once our thinking changes, our responses to the things that happen to us change.
I choose to believe in God; your choice may be different. I invite you to choose to have faith. |
