Mirror, Mirror....
What's in store for you in 2010?

Remember the story of Snow White?  There was a magic mirror that could answer questions and give critical information. It certainly didn't always give the information that the stepmother wanted to hear, but it "helped" her by giving her strategic information. (Too bad she didn't make wise choices on how to act on the information).

Unfortunately, we don't have access to anything that will give us the kind of information that we think we need to plan for our future and our success.... so is that why 97% of business professionals don't make a plan? Yes, I said NINETY-SEVEN percent!

It's not a coincidence that the three percent of business professionals who have a strategic plan for their future are consistently the top performers in their industries.

My question to you is: Do You Want To Win or Not? Stop saying you wish you had a better job, better skills, more opportunities, etc. Take control of your destiny, or everyone else will.

In this newsletter, you will find some hints and tips on how to make a strategic plan for 2010 that will help you win. Let me know what you think.

Warm Regards,

What's Your Roadmap?
Three Steps....
What's Your Mission Statement?
Three Steps to Begin Making a Personal Strategic Plan

  • Be Clear: Who are you? What do you want to be when you grow up? What skills do you have, what skills do you need?
  • Be Committed: You won't win if you only give your goals a half-hearted attempt, or if your only action toward meeting your goal is to write it down.
  • Be Reasonable: Eat the elephant one bite at a time. Make sure your large goals are broken down into smaller, measurable goals.

What's Your Personal Mission Statement?

A personal mission statement is the "compass" that helps you decide what to do when you have choices in the direction your life and career will take.
  • What are your core values? If you want a list of 100 core values to help you, click HERE.
  • What are your priorities?
  • What do you want to be your legacy?
A personal mission statement is a bit different from a company mission statement, but the fundamental principles are the same.

Here are the five steps to create a personal mission statement:
  1. Identify Past Successes: these help you see where you skills and passions lie.
  2. Identify Core Values: choose 5 - 10 core values, then weed them down to the top 2 - 3, then identify your top core value. This is what you stand for.
  3. Identify Contributions: How do you want to improve your immediate area, your community, and your world? For what do you want to be remembered?

Now is the time everyone is searching for gifts that are unique. Well, the search is over! Here are unique, handmade and priceless gifts. The majority of the work is made using the Tiffany foil method followed by soldering the piece together, perhaps applying a patina, cleaning it thoroughly, then polishing it.
