Simple steps that save you time, money and hassles...
At Swedish Motors our goal is to be your friend in the
car business. We want to help you enjoy the time you
spend in your vehicle. Your vehicle is very dynamic
and requires attention.
We could not begin to list the things that need to be checked, serviced or inspected regularly on most modern vehicles. The best advice we can offer is that you take an active role in preventative maintenance on your vehicle. Swedish Motors has complied a bare bones list of the basics. 1. Wash and wax your vehicle regularly so bugs and grime don't have a chance to prematurely age your paint or block your field of vision. 2. Check your tire pressures once a month using a tire pressure gauge. Check for adequate tread depth at the same time to ensure maneuverability, traction, and hydro-plane prevention. 3. At least once a month walk around your vehicle to check lighting systems. 4. Keep your washer fluid topped off and clean your wiper blades with a soft cloth or paper towel. 5. If your battery is more than a couple of years old have it tested once a year. Batteries are expected to last 5-6 years, significantly less if not maintained. Now is the time for Spring cleaning, do not forget your vehicle. The maximum time between vehicle services should be six months. So, if we have not seen your vehicle since October, now is, 'time for service'. |

Why is it an important part of your vehicle?
Audi, Saab and Volvo vehicles are among the finest
engineered today. All incorporate a set of simple
engine components that reduce wear and ensure
minimal emissions. The Positive
Crankcase Ventilation System, or PCV can be
thanked for
preventing overheating, poor lubrication, and high
emissions levels.
The PCV system works by evacuating uncombusted gases in your vehicles crankcase. These gases contain unburned fuel, carbon dioxide, and water vapor. It is imperative that these gases be removed as they result in corrosive acids and sludge on the engine's interior. Engine Sludge has been a hot topic. Oil companies are aggressively marketing sludge preventing oils. Swedish Motors has determined that an oil change service over 5,000 miles is past due, regardless of the manufacturers recommendations. Oil Change Services must be performed on all vehicles, rather than a quick oil drain and fill. At Swedish Motors we inspect your PCV system at every service. We know the early signs of sludge build- up unique to your car. Saab has introduced system upgrades that must be performed on all applicable models. Servicing your vehicle with us for every oil change gives us the opportunity to help you prevent long-term issues. Swedish Motors would be happy to evaluate you PCV system and make any recommendations that will extend the life of your vehicle. |
