Healthy Trick or Treat Options
Telling the kids -- "No Trick or Treating!" sounds pretty scary. What's scary are the health epidemics created by our national sugar holiday binge that starts on October 31st. So, what can be done to set our kids (and ourselves) up for a healthy fall -- and still have fun with family and friends all through the holidays -- starting with Halloween?

This article should give you a few not so spooky tips to get started on the right track. 

 

 

 

1.) Show me the Money! Your little ghoul, goblin, princess or superhero has just spent the last few hours collecting as much candy as they can carry and you're faced with the unlucky prospect of telling them they can only eat a couple.  Sounds pretty scary! Make it less haunted with a little cold hard cash.  A little "trick" for the "treats"! Offer them a nickel for every piece they don't eat.  You could get even more creative and charge them a dime for every piece they keep. If they're anything like we were as kids it might cost you $10 or $15 but you'll save a bunch in pediatrician visits and teach them long term healthy habits.
