Good Nutrition is a fundamental to effective learning

It's back to school!

The foundation of all the learning our kids do starts with the fuel we put in their bodies. Starting the day off with a healthy breakfast with high protein and good fats can give them a real boost all day. 

According to recent research kids that eat a healthy breakfast are more attentive, think better and get better grades.

Focus on Protein:   Make sure a good part of their meals focus on good proteins and fats like eggs, meat, raw milk cheeses, nuts and seeds. Butter, olive oil, fish and coconut oils will keep their energy up and help them grow.

Sugar + Kids = Bad:  
Too many carbs and sugars in the diet will cause deficiencies, zap energy and focus, and keep them from being the bright, healthy individuals they were meant to be! So, get ridding of the pop tarts and cereal will help get rid of bad grades and behavior problems.

Good Food + Kids = Good:  They should eat what you eat (as long as you're eating what you should be! I recommend avoiding almost any foods marketed toward kids. These always contain too much sugar, empty calories and bad fats.

7 Quick and Easy Healthy Kids Meal Ideas:

Breakfast

(Use stevia as the sweetener instead of honey or something artificial.)

 Both of these Breakfast can easily be made a day or to before and reheated on the go.

 

Lunch

  • Meat and cheese rollups with veggies and hummus or bean dip
  • Leftover from last night's dinner (meat and veggie)
Dinner
  • Meatloaf with grass fed ground beef and a side of sauteed spinach or your favorite greens
  • Taco Salad (all the fun of Mexican but lower in carbs because you just sprinkle a few tortilla chips on top or even leave them out altogether.)
Snacks
  • Try giving them some raw veggies with (or without) Hummus when they get home before they grab for a bag of potato chips - don't ask them to ewat their veggies - just gently hand them to them - they'll be crunching carrot sticks before you know it and they'll love it.

What was it like before?

  

I had serious weight loss. My circulation was bad in my lower legs. My skin from my ankles was dry and flakey.

  

How is it now?

  

I have gained weight (about 10 pounds). I sleep longer at night without having to get up as often. My skin has softened up and smooth. Thank you.

What was it like before?

 

It was an effort to get my self moving daily because of pain, stiffness, and fatigue. I have fibromyalgia and it's very tiresome. I would exercise three to four times a week, but I wouldn't want to go because I was tired all the time.

 
 How is it now?

 

I'm exercising and wanting to go to the gym. I can increase my resistance while biking 30 minutes. I'm cutting grass with a push mower plus cutting my neighbor's lawn and weeding. Vacuuming with little effort to be motivated. My husband has even said, "Slow down!", while biking together.
