How Important is the Diet Record?
We have you write down your diet because it could be a matter of life and death.

Seriously, its that important.
As you know if you've been a patient for awhile the we are always investigating and researching how to help you attain optimum health.
This past weekend Dr. Lisa and I attended a Clinical Nutrition Mastery Seminar. While listening to Dr. Freddie Ulan go over the Diet Record and re-iterating to us the staggering effects of the increased consumption refined sugar and flour has had on people in America in the last few decades, it became abundantly clear of just how vital keeping your Diet Record is to your long term health.
Keeping an accurate Diet Record and honestly makng gradient small improvements is the key to really achieving lasting results with your nutrition program. A key statistic Dr. Ulan went over was that the Average American is eating between 300-500 grams of refined/processed Carbohydrates per day! This causes serious insulin resistance, weight gain and a whole host of long-term chronic degenerative diseases. This level of refined carb/non-food consumption is the underlying cause of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and epidemic obesity.
This increase in refined carbs, although it was originally a USDA recommendation, has been proven to coincide with an epidemic levels of obesity and heart disease. Its not a totally bleak picture though, there is something you can do - today. Start keeping your Diet Record.
The real solution to the Health Care Crises is for all Health Care providers across the nation to care enough about their patients' health to insist they keep a daily diet record and also insist that they gradiently cut back on their refined Carb consumption until they are between 75-100 Carbs per day.
So, we are going to start with you. Because we care about your health and you getting well and staying well we must insist that all of you who have plateaued on your health goals, are struggling with your program or having health challenges return then we will be asking you to start a diet record at your next visit. And start taking steps to get that carb intake into a healthy range. It's that important. The difference between doing well and getting healthy is your Diet Record and carb reduction. If you haven't been in a while lets get you back on track with your health goals - no matter how well you're doing.
We will help you become even healthier and happier and keep your body functioning at its optimum.
