Greetings!

Last year everyone who wanted a flu shot got one. Only 14% of the vaccinations worked. At the end of the flu season, the Center for Disease Control deemed it a failure. Only 175 people died of the flu last year. Compare this with 20,000 people who died from over-the counter pain medications. Will this year's flu shot be a failure also? We won't know until the end of the season. Some people enjoy gambling but some of us want a sure thing.

In 1999, Dr. A McIntosh from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon used Mediherb Echinacea Premium liquid as part of a placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial as a preventative for upper respiratory infections. This positive clinical trial showed that Echinacea Premium was effective in reducing the incidence of colds and flu by up to 70%. There is no better form of Echinaces than Medi-Herb's. If you want to get some, you can contact me.

Are we sure antioxidants are helpful?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neutrophils, a type of cell essential to your immune system, inject oxidants into pathogens to kill them. They oxidize the pathogens just like a car will oxidize (rust) or a food will oxidize (rot or turn rancid). To stop your neutrophils from working (weaken your immune system), take anti-oxidants. Always touted as a healthy thing to do, taking antioxidants may be doing the reverse of what we want.
In 7+ years of practice, I have never recommended an antioxidant like ascorbic acid or d-alpha tocopherol. If someone REALLY needs anti-oxidants, then that means there is something else going on in the body that needs to be addressed. It could be loss of function of an organ, the need to flush an organ or offensive foods are being eaten.
Lecture at UM medical school
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thursday, Nov. 4 at noon in the North Lecture Hall. Here are some of the topics: -How nutrition affects "genetic" diseases. -The role that bacteria and viruses play in our body. -How to manipulate the presence of bacteria and viruses nutritionally. -A short history of food and a concurrent history of health/disease -How to repair or regrow an organ that is not functioning well -An explanation on how auto-immune disease is usually a nutritional case. -A demonstration on "muscle-testing"- how to find out what the body wants.

Please join us if you can.

One reason why pasteurized milk does not build bone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When milk is pasteurized, it is actually heated. This heating kills bacteria and enzymes. The pasteurization process is declared "done" for a quantity of milk when a certain enzyme has been eliminated from the milk. That enzyme is alkaline phosphatase and tests are run to verify that has been eliminated.
In the body, alkaline phosphatase is the enzyme that turns calcium into bone! With no alkaline phosphatase, there is no bone build-up.
