In this issue, we will start with a story about Japan, then...
-- Drugs tend to stay in the body
-- Upcoming Workshops
-- Sales of herbs have been in decline since 1999
Greetings! My mom just spent two weeks in Japan. She toured all over and saw many people. She counted the number of people who were overweight. There were only 16 overweight people out of thousands. Japan is the healthiest country in the world. They are not healthy because of "coral calcium". She said their meals consisted of four courses. Each course was presented on a different plate and was only three bites. At the end of the meal, you had consumed twelve bites of food. There was no rushing. I am not recommending you eat twelve bites of food per meal because your body may not like that. But keep it in mind. 64% of Americans are overweight. |

Drugs tend to stay in the body ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In 1990, I took an antibiotic for acne. I took it for a
few months at the very end of my senior year in high
school. I was pretty physically active during high
school but didn't do much in my undergraduate
years. In chiropractic school four years later, I
started running again. I noticed that my muscles
would give out after only twenty minutes of running.
In the last twelve months, I have been working out
twice a week. I have noticed that my muscles get
completely fatigued at eight repetitions eg. eight leg
extensions, eight pull-ups, eight bench presses. It
didn't matter how much more I worked out, my
endurance remained below what it was during high
school.
On August 15 of this year, I was muscle-tested by one of my favorite doctors. He found the old antibiotic was locked in my internal organs. He said that my muscles were giving out because my body was overwhelmed by the drug that I took from 14 years ago. He put me on a program of nutritional supplements designed specifically for cleaning out the drug. On September 26, exactly six weeks later, I did twenty pull-ups! There are other positive changes that have occurred also. The lesson is: If you have ever taken a drug before, it's probably still in you, causing lack-of-optimal-health. The muscle-testing and a program designed specifically for you can clean your body out.

Headaches. There are many different causes of
headaches. Here are some that will be discussed:

out what the cause of your headache is and get to
the root of the problem. Wed. Oct. 6 7pm. 3100 W.

Open Discussion on Wholistic health care and its impact on your specific health situation. We will begin with an introduction. Bring your questions about your own health and bring someone you think may benefit from a non-pharmaceutical approach. Wed., Oct 20 7 pm. 3100 W. Liberty, suite C |

Sales of herbs have been in decline since 1999 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You, the consumer, have been discovering that the
herbs found at local health food stores and grocery
stores do not help your health as you expected. In
1992, there was a law passed called DSHEA that
allows poor quality herbs to be sold in retail stores. I
do not recommend anyone use retail supplements.
The product usually does not match the label. There
are many studies to confirm this. If your doctor is
going to recommend supplements and herbs, it is
their ethical obligation to find the best for you.
The herbs I use are from a company in Australia where herbs are regulated as drugs. They have to do what they are supposed to do or else they won't be shipped. Medi-Herb is the name of the company and their Echinacea product is a great example. They have 4.1 mg of "alkylamides" which is the most active ingredient. Worldwide, the next best echinacea has only half of that. If you have tried herbal therapies from a store and it didn't work for you, please do not give up. It's not the herb that doesn't work, it's the herbal company who put together a poor quality product. The best situation is to find a trustworthy, natural doctor who has researched and uses the best products on the planet.
