2012 JOE Dinner Raffle
Purchase a raffle ticket for the 2012 JOE Dinner raffle and buy your chance to win a pair of 14 karat white gold 5.95ct diamond in and out hoop earrings, generously donated by Deutsch & Deutsch Jewelers.
Buy one ticket for $50 or 3 tickets for $100. All proceeds to benefit the 12th Annual Joy of Education Dinner honoring the Helfman Legacy.
To purchase your raffle ticket online, please click here and include how many raffle tickets you are purchasing in the Comments section. Your tickets will be mailed to the address provided. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Upper School and Middle School front desks.If you would like to help sell raffle tickets to your friends and family at holiday gatherings or throughout the community, please contact Debbie Kaplan or Tara Sondock. The drawing will take place and the winner will be announced at the JOE Dinner on Thursday, October 25, but you do NOT have to be present to win.

Join the Middle School for Dinner in the Sukkah 
Please come celebrate Sukkot with the Middle School. Bring a dairy meal for you and your family. We'll provide (or will be selling) drinks and dessert. Music will be provided compliments of Kelly Dean and students. Join us Thursday, October 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Sukkah.

With the holiday season upon us, please be extra mindful of the many Day 0's we have on the calendar. Students must be in their first class by 8 a.m. on all Day 0's. Please check the Blue Book Calendar, or Edline, for all Day 0's in the upcoming weeks.

Veteran's Day Coming Up at EWS
EWS Middle School Teacher and Veteran Kirk O'Neal would like to invite any Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses from the EWS Middle School community to our special Veteran's Day Kallah at 9 a.m. on Friday, November 9.
If you or a member of your family are a Veteran and would like to be recognized at our special Kallah, please email Mr. O'Neal with the veteran's name, branch of service, the war and/or years served and how they are related to an Emery/Weiner Middle School student. If there are family members who are Veterans and who cannot attend, please send Mr. O'Neal as much information as possible so he can still acknowledge them.
To participate in our Veteran's Day Kallah, Mr. O'Neal needs all Veterans to meet him at 9 a.m. in the Stein/Schechter Library in the Stein Fine Arts Complex on Friday, November 9. The Kallah will last from 9:22 - 10:05 a.m. with a short reception immediately following.

Vocal Ensemble to Sing at Aeros Game
The EWS Vocal Ensemble has been invited to sing at an upcoming Houston Aeros hockey game. Tickets for the Sunday, November 4 game are available for $10 until Friday, October 12.
If you would like to purchase tickets, please pay with cash or check (Payable to: The Emery/Weiner School - Memo: Aero's Game). After Friday, October 12, tickets are regular priced. You can only purchase the discounted tickets through EWS, so please feel free to drop off your payment at the Middle School Office (Cathy Power), or the Upper School office (Emmie Rothenbach) before October 12. Tickets will be available for pickup a few days before the game or you can have them will-call'ed.
We would love to see each of you on November 4, but also would like for you to spread the word and invite as many people as possible.
