JAGUAR FOOTBALL - BACK "4" MORE

Jaguar Defense

Jaguar Football Head Coach, Adrian Adams, graduated a wealth of experience from a group that brought three championships to Emery. However, Coach Adams is not concerned because the one thing that never leaves the football program is tradition!

In pursuit of a fourth straight title, the Jags will be looking for several returning players and some new faces to step up and lead the team to victory this season. Come November, with hard work and dedication the Emery football team could be adding another piece of hardware to the trophy case.

The Jags opened the season with a win over Brenham Christian Academy at the Living Stones Christian School Kickoff Classic played at Alvin Memorial Stadium Saturday, September 1st.  Come out and see the Jags play their first home game Saturday, September 8th versus Orange Community Christian.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM on the Senior League Baseball Field.  For a more in-depth preview on the Jags this season, please read the Jewish Herald Voice and Houston Chronicle

JAGUAR CROSS-COUNTRY - PICKING UP THE PACE
 Cross Country 2011

Five days a week, rain or shine, the Emery Cross-Country team led by Head Coach, David Berthold, and Assistant Coach, Sheldon Wilkinson, can be found hitting the pavement for their 6:00 am morning runs. With big plans to take the Jaguar Cross-Country team to new heights, the coaches are pushing the runners to pick up the pace. After an outstanding 5th place finish at the TAPPS District 4-4A Cross-Country Meet last season, the program looks primed to make their move to overtake all challengers.  Look out for runners early in the mornings as these Jags are going to move through anything that stands in their way!

JAGUAR VOLLEYBALL - BEST START EVER TO SEASON

With only 15 girls in the entire high school program this year, Varsity Head Coach Lauren Cowan says, "Everyone has a role to play and they are all stepping up for each other and playing as a team. We are expanding our game and stepping outside the box with everyone playing different positions. We are asking these girls to put themselves in uncomfortable situations playing positions they are not necessarily used to playing and they are taking it one play and one game at a time and doing a great job!"

Assisted by Coach Cami Montgomery, the Varsity Lady Jags have comprised an overall record of 9-1 this season. The highlights being a third place finish at the Baytown Christian Tournament and an impressive 3-2 victory over Episcopal High School. With continued success, this group is sure to be in the mix to secure another playoff appearance at Emery as hosts of the TAPPS District 4-4A District Tournament in October
MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS

The 2012-2013 school year will be an exciting time of "firsts" for The Emery/Weiner Middle School Athletic Program. We have almost 50% participation of students in 7th and 8th grade which is one of our highest fall participation rates ever.  We have two new programs being offered to our middle school athletes: Cross-Country and Football. Additionally, we added a third volleyball team because of increased interest over the past few years.

 Field Day

September debuts our Middle School Cross-Country team which will be participating for the first time in competition. The team has a couple of spectacular runners, and Coach Berthold and Coach Wilkinson looks forward to many great performances by them this season.

Football

Coach Wakefield and Coach Pellerin have been putting the building blocks in place for a successful Middle School Football season. The first time sixman football players will play their inaugural game at home on Thursday, September 6th at 4:30 PM against Logos Prep on the Senior League Baseball Field. So, come on out and support this up and coming program!

VolleyballExcitement is high in Kosberg Gymnasium for Middle School Volleyball. With an 8th Grade Team, 7th Grade White Team, and 7th Grade Blue Team, the stage is being set to build upon past success and deliver stronger, even more developmentally sound players into the  high school program. These young ladies are learning a lot from veteran coaches Angie Gubitz, Angi Boudreaux, and Jeff Peters. Come out and watch the 7th Grade Blue team at 4:30 PM and the 8th Grade team at 5:30 PM Wednesday, September 5th in Kosberg Gymnasium. The 7th Grade White team will hit the court at home for the first time

Monday, September 24th at 6:00 PM.
