Greetings!
I'm passionate about working with small businesses and local nonprofits. It's a wonderful to build our community, and I meet a lot of new friends that way.
One thing I've re-discovered this week is that many of us in small businesses are very good at what we do. We're so good at it, that we work day and night to keep our business running. . . and loose sight of where were going.

If you're like most small business owners, you're too busy running your business to truly enjoy the fruits of your labor. If you can't leave your business for a couple of days, then you haven't got a business, you've got a job!
Most of us are too busy working IN our business to have time to work ON our business! This is what I rediscovered in myself this week, and immediately stopped what I was doing and started working ON my business. The results of this include new clients, a powerful new referral system, and 2 new services that offer.
Working On It, Not In It: Working on your business means building your business as a franchise prototype, even if you never plan on franchising. In this way, you've created a turn-key operation that delivers consistent, predictable results no matter who's running the business.
A Cycle of Innovation, Quantification and Orchestration. When you're working on your business, you'll discover that there is a constant cycle of innovation, quantification and orchestration. Each of these words mean exactly what they normally mean. Knowing where you are in this cycle is really helpful in terms of getting the most important things done right now (A exercise that I am certainly not yet a master of! :)
These ideas came from the most important (useful) business books I've ever read, The E-Myth, by Michael Gerber. The Prescott library has a copy of it.
If you'd like to talk more about working on your business instead of in your business, call me! I'd love to have lunch and explore this with you! I GUARANTEE it will be beneficial for both of us!(And if you're not in Prescott, we can "do lunch" over the phone.)
