Scouting volunteers to recruit units for a Lincoln Heritage Council Tornado Relief Team

The Lincoln Heritage Council Boy Scout troops and crews have joined forces with the Cross Roads of America Council in an effort to assemble a large work force of volunteers to assist with tornado relief efforts in Southern Indiana. These areas include Henryville, Marysville, Nabb, Otisco, individual outline property and Farm-Aid.

This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate the character and spirit of our organizations by providing intensified, productive, hands-on aid to our fellow Hoosiers hit by this tragedy. On, March 10th the Pekin Indiana Team assembled 171 Scouts and Leaders which made a meaningful and measurable community impact. The goal is to assemble an even larger workforce this time, and have an even greater impact!

This service effort will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012. Click here for more information.

A special thank you to Molly Malone's

The Lincoln Heritage Council, Boy Scouts of America staff would like to thank the folks at Molly Malone's Irish Pub for their donation last week in honor of St. Patrick's Day!  Molly Malone's prepared a delicious lunch for our staff so we could celebrate the wearing of the green! Thanks!!

Sign up, we still need volunteers for the LHC Sporting Clays Classic

It is time to start preparing for the Lincoln Heritage Council's Sporting Clays Classic tournament and auction.  This year's tournament will be our 16th Annual Sporting Clays Classic.  This year's Classic will be held on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19st at the Steel Technologies in Eminence, KY. Our tournament has grown to over 70 teams and over 275 shooters.  These teams will come from all over our Council area in support of Scouting.  As you know, all proceeds from the tournament go towards supporting our local Boy Scout programs.

With this many teams and shooters, we need volunteers to help us run a fun and safe tournament. This announcement is to request for you to consider volunteering some time to help us during this year's Sporting Clays Tournament.  We respectfully ask that all volunteers be 14 years old or older (or be accompanied by an Adult) due to nature of this tournament.

Volunteers are needed in lots of different areas and for various times. Volunteers will be needed on both Friday, May 18th and on Saturday, May 19th.  As a volunteer, you can help on one or both days.  You can also specify to work mornings or afternoons or all day.  Every volunteer will receive a cap as recognition and meals for their time and help.

Volunteers helping with the 2012 Sporting Clays Classic will get a special invitation to come out and shoot at the First Annual Volunteer Fun Shoot, June 3rd, 2012 at the Steel Technologies course.

To volunteer or questions, please contact Mike Mireles at 502-400-5376 or at mmireles@bsamail.org. Thanks for your consideration in help with the 16th Annual Sporting Clays Classic.
