Please read the below important announcements regarding your group benefit plan with Cigna.

There have been recent concerns raised by some Cigna members in the Weld and Larimer County areas after being told Cigna is no longer contracted for lab testing at Greeley Medical Clinic and other PVHS clinics/locations.

 

As a result, Cigna contacted PVHS to find the reason for the communication error.  It was discovered that PVHS ended their contract 1/15/12 with an outside vendor who negotiates laboratory testing rates between the health system and insurance companies.

 

While this outside vendor agreement has gone away, PVHS continues to be IN NETWORK for ALL services with Cigna, but the result of this terminated contract is an increase in the charges for lab services. For lab testing performed within the Poudre Valley system, this can result in more out of pocket expense for Cigna members. 

 

If you or a family member are in need of lab testing ordered by your PVHS doctor, you can either have the testing performed at your doctor's PVHS office, or you can go to one of the other PREFERRED Cigna laboratory locations:

Please note the following:

• The assessment is only for cases sitused in CO;
• The assessment is per employee and only for those employees that reside in CO (and again, only if the case is sitused in CO);
• The assessment is $45.48 per employee active on the plan as of January 31, 2012;
• Cover Colorado charges will be collected via May 2012 billing cycle
