To promote, empower, and be a valuable resource to the business community and chamber members; and to position our community as a tourism location and ideal place to live.

We are proud to feature the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center as our Member Monday! Garrie Borden, the Community Partnerships Coordinator for the Center, was thankful for the opportunity to bring awareness about abuse and the services they provide. "We need to reach people to let them know that we are here to offer multiple services to victims of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse. We need to increase awareness of abuse problems and what individuals can do to safely help victims by recognizing the signs of abuse, believing victims' stories, responding to perpetrators and referring victims to our agency. Knowing warning signs may also help parents recognize signs of abuse in their children, whether it's child abuse or dating violence."
We posed Garrie the question, "What value do you find in being a member of the Chamber?"
"An integral part of our program strategy is to have HCWC staff promote our services with community, individuals, civic groups, schools, churches, local government, law enforcement and the media. As a member of the Kyle Chamber of Commerce, we are reaching the fastest growing city in Hays County. The Kyle Chamber is growing too, and with its focus on members and the community, we feel that our membership is an invaluable tool for reaching a large portion of the city's population.
The mission of the Hays-Caldwell Women's Center is to create an environment where violence and abuse are not tolerated in the communities we serve. The Center will provide education, violence prevention services, and crisis intervention to victims of family violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Our philosophy is that physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse of one human being by another is unacceptable. HCWC believes that all abuse diminishes or prohibits the full expression of life and growth that is every person's right."
