This week, we are happy to feature The Motley Menagerie Tea Room as our Member Monday of the week! The owner, Darleen Motley, wrote in about her company feature and how being a member of the Chamber benefits her and her business.
"Being a member of the Kyle Area Chamber allows my company to be able to network with others and keep it local. When I have needs such as heating and air, plumbing problems, or computer repairs, I immediately go to the Chamber website and use our members. That alone is worth being a part of a network, not to mention being proud to be associated with the 'Most Award-Winning Chamber in the State of Texas'." We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
"The Motley Menagerie is a Tea Room and Boutique. We offer over 30 varieties of teas both loose-leaf and bagged. Our selection is growing as we grow as well. We are a wonderful venue for High Teas, Afternoon Teas, Baby Showers, Bridal Showers, Children's Tea Parties, Rehearsal Dinners and small intimate weddings. We have a back patio that allows for extended numbers of guests. Our food is all homemade starting from our bread to our quiches and desserts."

Kyle Chamber Seeking Membership Sales Director

Provides leadership, management and supervision. Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing array of initiatives. Ability to work with Executives and develop multiple relationships within an organization to promote a team environment. High level of customer service, relationship management and presentation skills.
Required:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 3-5 years of progressive responsibilities in a professional sales position, including supervision and project management.
Expected Exempt salary including base, commission and benefits: $35,000.00-$42,000.00 plus

Kyle considering economic development tax
City officials hope a 4B corporation is in the cards for Kyle as it looks to attract and expand business in the area, the Hays Free Press reported.
Having funds from an economic development corporation - that's most often paid for with half of one percent of local sales tax - would make wooing businesses to Kyle easier, said Diana Blank, Kyle economic development director.
Voters would have to make the decision to move forward with the idea since its a tax issue. Officials hope to hold a community meeting this spring to gather input from residents. Read more.
