Dozens of local fire fighters have heeded the call to help fight the fires raging in the Bastrop area. Donations are now being accepted to help our brave men and women. Bottled water & snacks can now be dropped off at the following locations:

Kyle City Council Looking for Volunteers for Committees

The City of Kyle has numerous committees that serve as advisory groups to the City Council. The City is currently looking volunteers to fill spaces in these committees. Your contributions as a committee member will be greatly appreciated and your service will benefit our entire city.

You can now complete the volunteer form online and submit it electronically.

Your submission will be reviewed and you'll be contacted by the appropriate person should you be selected. Once you've completed the form, simply click on the "submit" button at the bottom to have your form sent to the city secretary.

2011 North Hays Community Expo
Reserve your booth today!
Believe it or not, the time has come to start preparing the 2011 North Hays County Community Expo which will take place at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center on October 6, 2011 from 3pm-7pm. Once again this event will be a combined effort of the Kyle and Buda Area Chambers of Commerce.

Thomas Lux was born in Massachusetts in December 1946. He has been awarded grants and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Mellon foundation, and the NEA. In 1994, he was awarded the Kinglsey Tufts prize for his book Split Horizon. The most recent of his 11 full-length collections is God Particles (Houghton Mifflin, 2008). Currently, he is Bourne Professor of Poetry and director of the McEver Visiting Writers program at the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as on the MFA faculties of Sarah Lawrence College and Warren Wilson College.

The events are cosponsored by the The Wittliff Collections, Therese Kayser Lindsey Reading Series, and the Texas State University Department of English.

All events are free and open to the public.
