Fireworks Light Up Kyle Sky for 4th

The city of Kyle put on a July 4th fireworks show despite warnings about the extreme drought.Fireworks bans are in effect throughout Central Texas and most of the city but the city of Kyle moved forward with its annual tradition by taking extra safety precautions. Several firefighters and fire trucks were on standby Monday evening and a 400 foot area around the launch site was drenched in water before the big display. The city also banned a type of firework that bursts lower to the ground. The drought has put a damper on business for Bay Fireworks. In January, they had 28 fireworks shows scheduled in Texas for the July 4th weekend. By the time the weekend arrived, only two cities went ahead with their plan to put on a show... Read more.

The 17th annual Austin Business Journal's Profiles in Power & Women of Influence Awards & Luncheon will be taking place on July 14th at the AT&T Executive Education & Conference Center. Top Central Texas women industry leaders will be honored at this event. Johnell Huebner, CEO of Clearly Classy Events, was nominated and is now a finalist for this year's award. Huebner graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Marketing. Her resume of events is far reaching including golf tournaments, galas, reunions, weddings and many more.
