 Hailey Elementary 5th Grade students from Matt Nelson's class spoke to the Blaine County Commissioners last week about leadership and invited the commissioners to attend Hailey Elementary Leadership Day. BCSD One of 49 Districts Selected by Idaho Leads
 Out of more than 150 Idaho school districts and charter schools, 49 were accepted to Idaho Leads, including the Blaine County School District. Participants attend four regional network meetings over 18 months where they define priorities, identify and celebrate successes, and determine areas of improvement. Each district was invited to bring a team of 10, including a trustee, student, teacher, superintendent and principal. Find out what one BCSD participant had to say about the experience HERE.

BCSD Receives $5,000 from Idaho Leads
At last week's second Job-Alike meeting, the Blaine County School District received a check for $5,000 to be used for a new initiative. Dr. Lonnie Barber, Superintendent, said, "We plan on using the funds for professional development for staff. It will go to the October in-service geared toward giving staff a chance to try new technology that extends student learning. We thank Idaho Leads for investing in public education through this generous gift."

Woodside Wolves Learn About Wolves
 Woodside Elementary Principal wrote about a recent school assembly, "Jamie and Jim Ducher came to the HOME OF THE WOODSIDE WOLVES! and presented two wonderful assemblies based on their experiences living with wolves. They gave two presentations; the first to our K-2 grades and the second to our 3 - 5th grades, which included showings of their documentary films Living with the Sawtooth Pack - providing our students with great information about the mysterious animal with which we share our landscape."
