Superintendent Puts ISAT Into Perspective
The Idaho Standards Achievement Tests are underway. At this week's BCSD Board of Trustees' meeting, Superintendent Dr. Lonnie Barber put ISAT's into perspective during his monthly discussion with the Board. He also shared a sample of combined (Carey and Wood River Middle School) 6th, 7th and 8th grade ISAT test results from 2011. Watch his discussion with the Board below:

Celebrate National School Library Month!
 School libraries affect student achievement. According the Idaho School Library Impact Study of 2009, students are more likely to excel academically when school librarians (also known as media specialists) play active and collaborative roles with other teachers and administrators. In the Blaine County School District, we are fortunate to have school librarians who manage dynamic and thriving libraries that serve students and teachers in multiple ways.  BCSD Chess Rage presents the Wood River Elementary School Championship K-5 Chess Tournament this Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Wood River High School commons. Spectators are welcome.
