School Calendar
The Board of Trustees is charged with setting the school year calendar. Last year the Board of Trustees approved a one-year school calendar, starting school after Labor Day. The Board of Trustees has many factors and stakeholders to consider when looking at a school calendar, including academic excellence. Parents and community members will have an opportunity to voice their opinion through public comment at the Board of Trustees meetings in February. Stay tuned to the BCSD Weekly Updates and the website for updates.

Snow Day Communication
How will parents learn when school is cancelled or if there is a delayed start? "You can never predict the weather," says Transportation Director Rex Squires. If there is any change to the normal school day due to weather, a notice will be posted on the BCSD website by 6:30 a.m. KECH radio and radio and television stations in Twin Falls will also make announcements. So, check the website, if there is no announcement, school is running on the normal schedule. And remember, snow days are rare in Blaine County! If you are curious about an evening activity, check your school website for updates on evening programs. You can also sign up for text alerts here.
