Janet Dennis teaches "Quest for Teachers" at Camas County High School 

ImageBlaine County School District Alternative Settings teacher Janet Dennis taught a class called "Quest for Teachers" at Camas County High School. The college-level class taught educators how to build self-esteem and responsibility for students as well as how to facilitate group dynamics. She writes, "the topics are directly related to 21st century skills and goals #5 and #8 in the Blaine County School District Strategic Plan. Superintendent Barber provided technical support and enthusiasm for making this class happen for the second time. One teacher commuted from Blaine County to join us."

Jessie Neet studies terrorism at University of Oregon

ImageWood River High School Social Studies teacher Jesse Neet is taking two graduate level courses at the University of Oregon this summer. He writes, "I am taking two classes in Political Science: Confronting al-Qaeda and The War on Terror."

WRHS teachers attend Idaho Professional-Technical Education Summer Conference 
ImageWRHS teachers Sam Schrader, Kevin Lupton (pictured), and several other BCSD Academy teachers attended the Idaho Professional-Technical Education Summer Conference in Boise.  Kevin Lupton, the architecture, drafting, and mechanical engineering teacher at WRHS, wrote, "I attended a two-day robotics in-service and built interest for VEX robotics in the state of Idaho.  We will be hosting our own robotics tournament November 12.  Up to this point we have been the only VEX robotics team in the state of Idaho and we would like to increase participation."
