 Woodside Elementary Students Send Letters to Iraq - Strategic Plan Goal #1
Gabby Diedrick's mixed 2nd/3rd grade class at Woodside Elementary sent drawings and letters to the Idaho National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade from Boise, Idaho. The 116th deployed to Iraq in September, 2010 and will return September, 2011. Woodside Elementary Paraprofessional Heidi Tracy, who works in Diedrick's class, suggested that students send drawings to her son-in-law's troop.  School Board Approves Budget - Supporting All BCSD Strategic Goals
On Tuesday, June 14, the Blaine County School District School Board approved the 2011-2012 Budget. The proposed budget is here. A guide to the budget will be available soon. You can also go to the district office at 118 W. Bullion for a hard copy of the budget. In other school board news, administrators and members of the community bid farewell to outgoing board members Julie Dahlgren and Dan Parke. Board Chair Julie Dahlgren served on the board for eight years, attending an estimated 400 official board meetings and countless more public meetings. She thanked her family for their support, "When the phone rings at 10:00 p.m. and your husband answers, he's as involved as you are when you serve on the school board," said Dahlgren during a reflection of her eight years of service.
