Ho Ho Ho!

This year 7 year old Rachel asked her parents for an unusual gift this Christmas.  Instead of gifts for herself, she wanted to help other less fortunate.  So, Rachel brought the gift of Warm Hands, Warm Hats, and coloring books to all 40 children at our Elyria Child Enrichment Center.  Thanks to Rachel, this winter season our children are ready to play in the snow.  Rachel will definitely be on Santa's "NICE" list.

Neighborhood Alliance has been busy delivering holiday cheer served throughout our programs.  Santa arrived to our Lorain and Elyria Child Enrichment Center parties to spread holiday cheer while listening to each and every child's special wishes.  Thanks to our generous donors and volunteers of our Christmas for Kids program, Christmas morning will bring smiles to the faces of nearly 500 children and countless families and seniors served throughout Lorain County. The true spirit of the holiday brings hope to others less fortunate at this special time of year.

A Bountiful Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving week was all about turkey at Neighborhood Alliance. Families at the

Lorain Child Enrichment Center were provided with turkeys and the fixings thanks to a donation by 1-888OhioComp and the family of an 8-year-old girl who sold trinkets over the summer to raise money to purchase the food items. Several families shared their gratitude that turkey was going to be on their holiday tables thanks to this donation. "I was wondering how to explain to my children why we were eating hamburger helper for Thanksgiving instead of turkey, now I don't have to have that conversation", shared a thankful mom.

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving was not going to be a day for a hot home delivered meal to our nearly 400 senior due to cuts in this program's funding. However, thanks to the generosity of Pat and Alan Spitzer & Family, and the management staff and volunteers, meals were cooked and warm meals were delivered to 400 homebound seniors in Lorain County. Along with their Thanksgiving meal, the seniors also received homemade placemats crafted by students at St. Anthony's and our Child Enrichment Centers. We were blessed to have the opportunity to provide this special meal to our seniors.

I'm dreaming of a Tighty Whitie Christmas

Thanks to WOBL & WDLW, awareness of the need for new undergarments caught national attention with our "Tighty Whitie Christmas". We received a lot of chuckles, but even more underwear to support the residents of Haven Center and other local programs.
