Smoke Signals Has Changed!
 Greetings!

Effective as of January 1st, 2011, Mt. Diablo Silverado Council will no longer be publishing Smoke Signals in PDF format on the Council website.  You will now receive Council information through Constant Contact on a bi-monthly basis.  Districts will produce their own communications, however links to each district page can be found on the right hand column of this email.  If you have any questions regarding Smoke Signals in 2012, please contact Matt Lynch.

Please forward this email and encourage your fellow volunteers to join our mailing list.  We will not spam you or them.  We are making this information delivery change to better our communication to the volunteers in our council.  There is a link to join our mailing list at the bottom of the right hand column.

We hope you enjoy this new format and we look forward to a great 2012!
Training

The "Training Continuum" offers many exciting opportunities for program and leadership skills training. Courses are open to Scouters from any District. For any training questions, contact your District training representative.

FOS
Friends of Scouting (FOS) is the largest fundraiser in support of Scouting in the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council.  The campaign runs from January through June each year and every family is asked to participate with a suggested contribution of $200. This money helps to operate the Scouting program to serve over 14,000 youth in the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council.

Recharters

Recharter packets have been distributed and this is the time to make sure your unit has rechartered for 2012. Please submit the signed copy of the completed on-line charter as soon as possible. Units that do not recharter within 60 days of their expiration date, December 31, 2011, will separate from Scouting.
