Greetings!
For river groups spring is the season of grants and clean-ups. Hopefully, your DNR River Protection grant is safely in the mail today. We would love a copy too! The next proposal to consider submitting is the DNR Citizen-based Monitoring Grant. If your group was one of the many that removed trash from your river in April, you may be dealing with a large pile of tires. See the announcement below for one way to properly dispose of tires. I've seen many announcements for fun events that groups have planned for this spring and summer. I hope you have sunny skies, flowing rivers, a great crowd, and of course sign-in sheets to capture e-mail addresses, and a follow up plan to thank participants and ask them for a donation! Enjoy your rivers,
Allison Werner

Tire Recycling Program
|
|

Tires are a frequent item found during river clean-ups. Properly disposing of the tires can be a challenge and expensive.
River Network has partnered with
Bridgestone's Spent Tire Program to accept tires from river clean-up for free. To participate in the program, you need to submit a request one month prior to the clean up.
