KIS 5th Grade DARE Graduation

Dare to Dream

Kenston Intermediate School, fifth graders completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.  At their graduation, retired NFL quarterback Elvis Grbac talked to students about achieving their dreams by making the right choices.  Each fifth grade student each wrote as essay on why they felt it was important to stay drug free.  Ali Lesner, Joe Morell and Hannah Schmidt presented their thoughts to their classmates.

Free Apps - BMI Calculators

Body Mass Index is a reliable indicator of total body fat, which is related to the risk of disease.  BMI calculators are a useful tool to screen for  weight categories that may lead to health problems.  Students in Kindergarten, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th grade are screened as part of the PEP grants.  In February, the results will be sent home to the parents of students who participated in the screening.
