Welcome Danna Reuven!

Our summer intern, Danna, is a Junior at University of Wisconsin studying Entrepreneurship and Management (minoring in Global Cultures and Leadership).  She's been passionate about community service since she was 8 and was a founding member of Nickelodeon's The Big Help, an initiative to get young children excited about community involvement.  She reached out to BookEnds to work as in intern after "discovering an organization whose mission aligns with [her] personal beliefs about children and education".  Danna "loves that BookEnds works to teach young people the importance of not only reading but also leadership and involvement".

I love Books

"I'm going to sleep well now" said a 5th grade volunteer after sorting books for 4 hours on May 20th.  The Brentwood community and City Year was out in full force supporting the BookEnds Brentwood Community BookDrive.  As a result, 12,000 books will be put into the hands and hearts of deserving Los Angeles children.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor First Republic Bank and to CPK and Whole Foods for providing the vital resources that made this event possible.

Our sincerest gratitude to the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation, The Water Buffalo Club, The Shea Foundation and The Leo Buscaglia Foundation for their recent contributions and support of BookEnds.

BookEnds student volunteers organize book drives in their schools to recycle their quality children's books directly into the hands of kids in schools and youth organizations in desperate need of books. Through this process, BookEnds creates readers and leaders.
