Abbie Case
Onward Abbie Case!
Our best wishes to our fantastic intern Abbie.  She has spent this last year completing a B.A. degree in Education and Psychology at Pepperdine and interning at BookEnds two days a week.  We couldn't of had as successful a year as we did without her!  We wish her our very best.

Miracles at Mychal's

BookEnds is working with an extraordinary group of individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of others. Mychal's Learning Place is a center for children and adults with developmental disabilities to learn independent life skills. Over 40 eager Mychal's volunteers greeted Gretchen, BookEnds Program Manager, with 1,500 books. Many smiling faces lugged artfully decorated book collection boxes to sort the books into grade level. A few volunteers shared their excitement for reading with stories of their favorite fantasy novels, tales from thrilling basketball biographies, and characters from their own pieces of writing in development. We all were thrilled in knowing their simple efforts will bring joy and effect the lives of others less fortunate.

BookEnds student volunteers organize book drives in their schools to recycle their quality children's books directly into the hands of kids in schools and youth organizations in desperate need of books. Through this process, BookEnds creates readers and leaders.
