Satellite drive

Chaparral Elementary in Calabasas held their annual BookEnds satellite BookDrive and collected 1,300+ books! Here are students posing proudly with their principal, holding up their certificate of achievement.

A BookEnds Satellite BookDrive creates the opportunities for kids and organizations to creatively design their own book drive based upon the BookEnds Method.

BookEnds and the Girl Scouts

Congratulations to Juliet, who spent a month collecting 1,500+ excellent quality books from her friends and neighbors to fulfill her Girl Scout Silver Award.

Unique BookEnds

We are proud of our long association with Los Angeles area public and private schools, but the BookEnds team is especially delighted with our partnerships with neighborhood youth organizations:

Program Manager Matt Devine happily arranged a delivery to My Friends Place, a drop in center for homeless youth in Hollywood.

Gayle Baigelman, BookEnds Associate Director, worked with the Oscar Litwak Foundation to donate Spanish language books for use in their hospital play carts.

Gretchen Schroeder, the second half of our dynamic program team, is currently working with volunteers from Rachel Zoe Inc, to help the World Child Project supply books to Casa de Paz, an orphanage in Baja, Mexico.

How great is this!

2012 Here We Come...Come Help!

The planning for the March 2012  "Believe in Kids" Scrabble Challenge is set to launch.  Please let us know if you'd like to join this committee of dynamic, creative volunteers to provide the talent and creativity that has made BookEnds Scrabble Challenge our signature event.  Email gbaigelman@bookends.org.

A Huge Thank You from BookEnds!

Our Festival of Books booth was only possible with the generous support of Fedex/Kinko's.  Many, many, many thanks!

What is BookEnds?

BookEnds is a non profit organization about Creating Readers and LeadersBookEnds is built upon our belief in children.  We believe that every child has a right to be surrounded by books throughout their childhood to inspire, enthrall and excite them.  We also believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn to help.

Annually, nearly 20,000 students organize BookEnds book drives in their schools to recycle their quality children's books directly into the hands of kids in schools and youth organizations that are in desperate need of books. At BookEnds, we build the next generation of readers and leaders.  Contact us!
