Hello,
The American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters is pleased to announce we will offer a Town Hall Webinar on Thursday Evening February 17, 2011 at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Click here to view webinar!
Please join us from the comfort of your home or office on what will be a stimulating half hour of information that pertains to the Public Insurance Adjuster Industry. Our first guest lecturer will be Holly K. Soffer, Esq. who is an attorney with over twenty years of experience. Ms. Soffer has written numerous amendments/regulations for public insurance adjusters in various states before Insurance Departments and legislatures.
Joining Attorney Soffer to speak on Florida Senate Bill 408 will be Attorney Sean Shaw of the Merlin Law Group.
Topics that will be presented on February 17, 2011 are:- Florida Senate Bill 408 has consumer groups up in arms over rate deregulation, ACV/RCV procedure, new time limits for making certain claims, allowing insurers to drop sinkhole coverage and other issues, including bad faith. Further, the new Bill imposes limitations on public adjuster advertising and regulates public adjuster conduct and fees.
- New Jersey has passed a new Public Adjuster law that has changed the license term, license fees, has a mandatory CE requirement, and imposes a ban on solicitation during certain hours.
- Louisiana has formed an advisory panel, of which AAPIA is a member, to study changes in the law relating to fees and communication with insurance companies. We'll talk about the progress to date.
- Texas repealed most of the Pubic Adjuster law but has regulations drafted under the old law still in place, confusing adjusters.
- Pennsylvania, in its new legislative session, proposed two new Bills affecting public adjusters, and a third may be on the way soon!
- Minnesota, Illinois, and other states say: Unlicensed Public Adjusters Beware! New laws are now being adopted to protect consumers from fraudulent activity by unlicensed public adjusters.
- New York proposes new requirements on licensing and continuing education for all adjusters, including independent adjusters and public insurance adjusters
A detailed presentation on each of the topics will be offered by Holly K. Soffer, Esq. who is an attorney with over twenty years of experience, and at any time during the webinar you will be able to submit a question in "real time" to our speaker.
We do hope you will make time to participate in this webinar Town Hall Meeting which is a "public" service that The American Association of Public Insurance Adjusters is offering to all licensed Public Insurance Adjusters nationwide.
