Welcome
|
Dear friends -
This month I chose a question from Mariana who wrote to the "Ask Lynn" column on my Facebook Page. She asks something that a lot of us struggle with. How do you make your dreams a reality? You have a big dream, but...how do you get there?
I believe your intuition is just what you need! When you make the time to check in with it, it gives you the information you need to make those "next right steps." You're accessing your inner compass each day and relying on its wisdom to point you in the direction of...more joy, better work, abundance, love and health. It's a reliable and trustworthy guide. It's been with you since you were born. It's there to help you live the life you were meant to live. To read more, see "Ask Lynn" below.
We have a new Facebook promotion again this month! This time we would love your feedback for topics you would like to see in the new release of "Divine Intuition" that is coming out next year. You can enter just by clicking on the Promos tab on my Facebook Page and answering the question. We will be offering signed copies of Listen: Trusting Your Inner Voice in Times of Crisis. The winner will be announced on January 21st. Good luck!
Congratulations to Cindy Palmer who was our Facebook contest winner last month and won a signed copy of my book, "Listen: Trusting Your Inner Voice in Times of Crisis."
If you'd like to submit a question for the "Ask Lynn" column, go to my Facebook Page. Even if your question doesn't get picked, I'm sure you'll find that others often have questions similar to your own - and that you'll find my advice helpful each and every month.
In gratitude,
Lynn

Wisdom Quotes
| "It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." - Alan Cohen
"I've learned that one way to bring my greatest longings to the surface is to notice how alive they make me feel". - Mary Manin Morrissey "As my prayer became more attentive and inward, I had less and less to say. I finally became completely silent... This is how it is. To pray does not mean to listen to oneself speaking. Prayer involves becoming silent, and being silent, and waiting until God is heard." - Sren Kierkegaard
"The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind." - Caroline Myss
"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how trees, flowers, grass grow in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls." - Mother Teresa of Calcutta

"Ask Lynn" How Do I Make My Dream a Reality?
|
QUESTION:
I currently work at a software company and even though it's a startup, I feel absolutely stifled. I've followed your advice to meditate and really think through the things that used to bring me joy or things I would do if I knew I wouldn't fail. I always end up coming back to owning my own business and creating and living off of something that is truly mine, that I have infinite passion for. That's how far I've gotten, but I feel stuck. I'm not sure how to move forward with this idea. What to do now? How to turn my dreams into a reality? I have no idea where to start. What's the next step? Please help.
- "Mariana K."
ANSWER:
Dear Mariana:
This is a great question and one that many people have. Wouldn't it be great if every new goal we had came with an instruction book that directed us towards its successful achievement? I believe we DO have those instructions. They're written in our souls and we access them through our intuition!
Often we have a big vision goal, but no idea how to get there. Many folks get discouraged at this point, so kudos to you for asking the question. The answer, in part, is contained in what you wrote. You don't have to know THE HOW, you just have to take steps in the right direction.
I'd like to give you a technique I call "The Next Right Step." You didn't say in your question anything about your business idea. However, for the purpose of the exercise, I'd like you to choose something that most resonates with you right now.
Here are the rules:
Every day, I'd like you to take one step towards whatever you've chosen. They needn't and shouldn't be huge action steps. They should be baby steps.
These actions should be something you want to do. You want these steps to be intuitively inspired. This means that when you wake up in the morning, ask yourself "What feels exciting (interesting, compelling) today?"
If you feel drained, bored or uninterested in any of the steps you've chosen, it's your intuition telling you it's not the right time, right step or that something else is out of harmony. Don't do it, even if your logical mind is telling you it makes sense. If you absolutely need to take an action, but don't feel inspired, see if you can break the task down into smaller pieces that do feel interesting. Here are some examples...
