3. Increasing Prosperity with Intuition (Part 2 of 2)
Last month I wrote the first of a two part series on how to increase abundance through intuition. You can find the April newsletter here.
Following is part two of the "Prosperity Key" series.
Let go of your fear. The universe has an infinite supply of opportunity. There is plenty to go around. You may be surprised to see that something is coming your way right now. - Richard Carlson
Prosperity key # 8: Slow down. In the midst of a crisis it's all too easy to endlessly focus on the chaos around you. Money and other forms of abundance do not necessarily come more quickly to you when you're in a frenzied state. In fact the opposite is true. Take at least five minutes each morning, afternoon and evening for at least a thirty-day period to simply sit and breathe. You'll be surprised how this one act will make you feel more centered, and thus more open to abundance.
Prosperity key # 9: Make a commitment to stay positive. We all have habits of unconstructive thoughts that we repeat to ourselves when we're under pressure. What thoughts do you have? A common one I hear people say is, "I'm so stressed out!" Be vigilant about nipping those negative thought spirals in the bud. Pessimistic thinking often precedes an emotional crash and you can't afford one of those when you're in a financial crisis. Following are some prosperity-affirming thoughts that will help you stay positive. Pick one that works for you. The intention is to make you feel better so you can stay open to incoming intuitive guidance that will lead you out of the current situation. "This is just temporary. Things are beginning to turn around." "I am open to new avenues of prosperity." "I live in an abundant Universe. I have everything I need." "Money flows to me from all directions." Write down several statements that make you feel better and replace those nasty negative thoughts with some good ones.
Prosperity key # 10: Keep a gratitude journal. Gratitude is the stuff prosperity is made of. There is no better time than when you're in the midst of a crisis to begin or maintain a journal filled with appreciation. What you focus on expands. Find delicious moments throughout the day and savor their power. Did your child say something sweet to you today? Did you receive an unexpected check in the mail? Perhaps you took a walk and your neighbors stopped to chat. Or you unexpectedly felt thankful for a clear mind and healthy body. Every night before you go to bed, write down at least six things that were wonderful today.
Prosperity key # 11: Allow yourself time to dream. It's often difficult to imagine a healthy, balanced, prosperous and successful life when you're feeling scared and things around you are in disarray. However, this is the time when it's most important. Actively visualize what you want to create in your new reality. Get out your journal, your set of paints or colored pens and begin to write and draw images of what you want your life to become. If you're not particularly creative, get a stack of magazines and cut out pictures of what you want. Put these images and words in a place where you'll feel inspired.
Prosperity key # 12: Take prosperity meditation breaks. You don't need to sneak away from your desk or even take long periods of time for this to work. Think of these as 30-second abundance contemplations. Simply allow your thoughts to open to abundance. As you do this expand your feelings to include a sense of safety, faith and love. Are there any images or emotions that come to mind that allow you to feel more abundant? If so, expand or pump up the volume of those feelings.
Prosperity key # 13: Talk to supportive friends and colleagues. Haven't you felt good in the past when someone close to you allowed you to be helpful and supportive? Allow people around you to do the same. The Universe often creates miracles through our connections to others. Let them know what's going on with you. Your friends often don't know what you need or the kind of support you find most helpful. So ask for what you want. They may have just the right contact, advice or information that will relieve or solve your problems.
Prosperity key # 14: Acknowledge the abundance you already have. Make a point of looking around you throughout the day and consciously focusing on the plenty that exists. Take a walk and breathe in the air. No lack there! Depending on where you live and what season it is, take in the profusion of sand, snow, leaves, trees or grass that fill your surroundings. Go to a grocery store and marvel at the large quantity of fruits and vegetables. And don't overlook the less tangible things like the fact that you may have wonderful friends, a good job and/or a healthy body. Your intention here is to keep your focus off the illusion of lack and on the reality of true abundance. Every time you appreciate the wealth that exists in you and around you, you are reminding yourself that you are on a planet that is chock full of everything you need.
Prosperity key # 15: Have compassion for yourself. We all mess up from time to time. Don't allow a temporary crisis with your finances to be another occasion to beat yourself up. Think about some creative ways to experience self-nurturing during this difficult time. What are some affordable luxuries you could treat yourself to so you don't feel totally deprived? You could buy some delicious gourmet jam to use on your morning toast; a new color polish to brighten your nails; or reward yourself by going out for a bowl of soup at a local restaurant. There are less tangible things you can do that are helpful during times of stress. Making sure you get enough sleep is an obvious one. Also, simply taking time to read a book or watch a good movie to get your mind off your concerns. Often all it takes are very simple shifts of attitude to invite prosperity into your life. Loving yourself opens the path for more love - and prosperity - from the Universe.

6. Some of My Favorite Things
Conscious Greetings is a new form of e-cards. Each greeting includes a beautiful, meditative flash animation, soothing music and a heart-felt thought to share with friends and loved ones.
I like the Martha Williamson videos on Beliefnet.com. They're very uplifting and encouraging. She uploads new ones every Tuesday and Friday. She was the producer for the "Touched By an Angel" series.
I've always enjoyed Swami Beyondananda humor. Here's a sample: "When reality is improved to the point where people choose to laugh instead of criticize," the Swami says, "we will achieve the uncritical mass needed to bring about Nonjudgment Day. That is where everyone wins beauty contests." To view more visit the website.
The Pathways-to-Peace website is a series of beautiful images and wise quotes. View it when you have a few minutes and want to feel inspired.
