Dear Neighbors,
With the arrival of spring and the pool soon to open, you will want to put the dates to the left on your calendars. Don't miss the opening pool party or the annual meeting.
Watch for more emails about summer social events, city of Brookhaven information meetings, Camp Byrnwyck and tennis teams. Thanks for your tremendous support on our renovation and for getting the assessments paid in a timely fashion. Work is on time and on budget.

For graduating high school seniors, please send me a picture and a paragraph about yourself for the neighborhood banner and next newsletter. We want to celebrate your success. Send your information to [email protected], ASAP.
Thanks,  Rebecca Williams

From BCA president Tom Stockmeyer
There is so much going on in Byrnwyck.  Here is just a brief update.

Renovation: I want to thank you for being patient and careful during the renovation work. I know it's hard to use the courts with all of the construction work underway. The good news is that within a few weeks, the work will be completed and the pool will be opened on schedule.

Annual dues: Invoices are scheduled to be delivered May 5-6. This is later than usual but we wanted to give everyone a break after the assessment and tax day. The break will not put us in a negative cash position.

Outside members: With thirty-nine outside members having already paid their annual dues, we expect this is going to be a record year for outside membership. If we

reach our outside membership cap, we will start a waiting list.

Tennis courts: The tennis courts are for member use. There has been an attempt by a non-member ALTA team to add a few Byrnwyck players so that the team can use

our courts for league play. If this happens again, we

will tighten our team requirements further.

Directory: The Directory has been delivered to inside members. Outside members should be receiving a notice from Barbara Halaburt shortly on how to obtain

their copy. Extra Directory's are also available for a $3 fee.

City of Brookhaven: Yes, Byrnwyck would be in the proposed city of Brookhaven. Please pay attention to this very important vote scheduled for July 31. The BCA Board has decided not to make a formal recommendation but we

will be hosting a town hall informational meeting in early June to answer any questions you have.

Remember to thank your volunteer neighbors when you see them. They are working hard to better our neighborhood. We don't get everything right all of the time

but we are doing our best. The best way for you to add input is to volunteer!

Regards, Tom

Swim Team News from Nanette Vaughn
It's promising to be a great year at the Byrnwyck pool with lots of exciting changes: new furniture, new bathrooms, a new grill area, a new pool deck, more space, and a saline system! No more green hair and red eyes. Once again this

year wifi is available at the pool.

Our swim team is so fortunate to have so many team moms, coaches, and swimmers returning this year. Suzanne Simkin and Nanette Vaughn are returning leading

the charge. Susan Viers also returns as treasurer. New this year are Jennifer Kramer as membership chair and Janie Kossak heading concessions. Also new this year is online registration and payment. Although registration has not been quite as smooth as we would have liked,we hope online payment has been an added convenience for you.

Leading our coaching team this year is Andrew Thomas. This is Andrew's first year as head coach and his third with the team. Andrew is finishing his first year at UGA and we are thrilled to have him back. Also returning

are Meagan Guenther and Ryan Vaughn. Meagan will graduate this year from Marist. Ryan is a rising senior at Marist.  Joining us is Takunda Mafudikwa, also a rising senior at Marist.  We are very fortunate to have an incredibly experienced and talented group of swimmers coaching our children. All of the coaches are also available for private lessons. May 9th is the start of swim team practice. If you have not registered yet please check the website for registration instructions.

This year we will only have two home meets. All meet dates, practice dates and times can be found on the Byrnwyck calendar and in more detail on the swim team calendar at www.byrmwyck.org. Please check these calendars when you are considering any of your party dates. And please come to the meets to

cheer us on.

Tennis News from Deb White

The Spring ALTA seasons have ended. All three of the Byrnwyck Junior teams and the Ladies' team had a fun season. A special thanks to all the Byrnwyck members who volunteer their time to make the Byrnwyck tennis program successful. Soon we will have a new pavilion and completely repaired and resurfaced courts, as well as new windscreens and some improvements to the fencing and gate.   I am sure everyone is looking forward to the improvements.
