Retail Sales Soar at the 2012 Show!

Thank you to all exhibitors for your participation at the 2012 Toronto International Boat Show!  The support and commitment that you give throughout the year is tremendous and is sincerely appreciated.

 

We are very happy to report an excellent show and the feedback received by many exhibitors shows very positive results across all product segments!

 

Canada's boating industry is off to a great start in 2012!

 

The final attendance for the show was 76,253 - up 5% from 2011. 

 

Attached is the post-show release with additional information related to the attendance, sales and exhibitor feedback.  An exhibitor survey will be sent out seperately.

Buy A Boat & Win Program Reports 989 Boats Sold at the Show!

 

Over the past nine years the Toronto Boat Show and Skippers' Plan, Robertson & Robertson Yacht Insurance have been promoting an additional incentive for consumers to finalize their purchases before the end of the show.

 

We had an increase in boats reported sold this year - 989 - up by 21% over 2011.

 

All boat buyers who entered into the contest are eligible to win the grand prize of $10,000 towards their boat purchase.  Plus a daily draw for a Blackberry Playbook.

 

This years' winner is Les Baker of Bethany, Ontario.  Les purchased a Smokercraft 172 Pro Angler.  The boat was sold by Gary Lewis of Port Colborne Marine.

 

Les will be presented his cheque in the spring once he takes possession of his new boat!

  

Canadian Boat Show adds Marketing and Communications Specialist

Lizanne 

Lizanne Madigan has joined Canadian Boat Shows as a specialist in Marketing and Communications to compliment the existing team. 

 

A 17-year veteran of Canada's recreational boating industry, previously Lizanne was Editorial Director for national trade and consumer boating publications, and served on the boards of Discover Boating, Boating Ontario, and Canadian Safe Boating Council.  Most recently she was Director of Marketing for Metroland Media Group's Digital Media Group.

This year there was fantastic media coverage leading up to and throughout the entire show including a great turnout on the Special Preview Night!

 

Strategic marketing,  strong features and special event areas all contributed to attract the media and in many cases saw media return to the show a second and third time.
