SITE WORK PROVIDER FOR THE CAROLINAS
Spring has sprung and as we put the cold behind us it is a great time to assess and repair damages left behind from the snow, ice, salt and snowplows. The winter precautionary measures property managers take can, and in many cases, do cause damage to driveways, buildings fences and walkways.
Let Davis Construction Services help you repair these damages in an easy and cost-effective way. Do you have curbs that need repair, potholes in the road or cracks in the asphalt? A snowplow can easily damage driveways, curbs, buildings and fences. Freezing weather can cause moisture in the subgrade of asphalt resulting in cracks. Further, the sodium from salt on concrete causes the surface to pop-up and in many causes turning into a trip hazard.
DID YOU KNOW? Cracks in asphalt occur when the earth underneath the pavement shifts. This is due to seasonal changes in moisture and weather. Though asphalt is designed to resist this moisture penetration, it is not impermeable to water damage, especially in a driveway. When cold water sinks into or below the asphalt, it will freeze when temperatures drop. Freezing water expands and as the freeze thaws it allows moisture to permeate and ultimately allows asphalt to move, putting structural strain on the pavement. Movement may cause asphalt to buckle and make small fissures or larger cracks.
