Greetings!

Apple Crisp time!

With the change of seasons, fresh baked apple crisp is
Don't trust the apple crisp at mom's house!
Don't trust the apple crisp at mom's house!
on our minds!  This month, we are highlighting our favorite applecrisp (and mockapple crisp) recipe made with the best cinnamon in the world:  Saigon cinnamon. We also carry cinnamon sticks and cinnamon chips.

We support the community that supports us, and this month we are highlighting three very worthy causes: Second Wind, Down's Syndrome and our Local Lakewood Police Dept.  Did you know?...according to the American Independent Business Alliance, when a consumer spends $100 at a locally owned business, $45 of it stays in the community. When that same $100 is spent at a national chain store, only $13 remains local. We thank you for "buying local" when you shop at the Village Roaster!

Warm regards,

Why Saigon cinnamon?

Because Saigon cinnamon is tastier!  Saigon cinnamon is a common marketing term for Vietnamese cinnamon. It comes from the bark of a tree native to the mountains of Central and Northern Vietnam. For aficionados of cinnamon, based on either its taste or its aroma, Saigon cinnamon is frequently their top choice. It is generally considered to be the best cinnamon in the world based on its high concentration of oil, which provides its pungent fragrance and intense sweet taste.  For the recipe, click here.

The Lakewood Cultural Center

Speaking of supporting the community...have you checked out the Lakewood Cultural Center's calendar recently?  Next month they are featuring several performances of "Meet Me in St. Louis" performed by the Performance Now Theatstlouisre Company.

"Meet me in St. Louis"
is a rare treasure in the musical theater, and is based on the heartwarming movie. Join the Smith family at the 1904 World's Fair, and see how their love and respect for each other is tempered with the genuine humor that can only be generated by such a special family.
