Wacky Insurance |
So what if you want to insure your body?
Or Voice? Or beard?
Yes, all of these have been insured before. Mostly, celebrities are inclined to insure certain notable body parts. It all began with Ben Turpin insuring his crossed eyes in 1920. Had his eyes been uncrossed he would have received $25,000 from the insurance carrier. The most famous body parts insured are legs. Betty Grable, Tina Turner, Brooke Shields & Mary Hart each insured their legs for $1 million. Beating all of them, Michael Flatley, Lord of the Dance star, insured his legs for $40 million! Also, Dolly Parton's famous theme-park-inspiring 42" breasts are insured for $600,000. Jennifer Lopez insured her famous rear for $27 million. Bruce Springsteen & Rod Stewart have insured their voices. A 1950's food critic, Egon Ronay, insured his taste buds. Jimmy Durante bought an insurance policy on his nose for $50,000. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has an insurance policy on his hands and specifically his middle finger. Gene Simmons tongue is insured for $1,000,000. The area of fame where body part insurance is not as common is in the sports world. Usually, instead of insuring just one part, they insure the whole body on a disability policy. Celebrities are not the only ones that might buy wacky insurance policies. There have been more than 30,000 insurance policies sold to protect people in case of an alien abduction. You can also get insurance policies for ghosts, werewolf, vampire and asteroids. The Derbyshire Whiskers Club insured their beards against fire and theft. The Nation Lottery Employers have bought insurance in the event that two or more employees win and never return to work. In the early 20th century there was even a policy insuring movie goers against death from excessive laughter. * Info found on Forbes.com & Wikipedia.com

Featured Customer: Richard Mychajlonka |
Richard Mychajlonka bought his first insurance policy from AnCap Insurance on the referral of a friend. He has stayed with AnCap Insurance for more than 14 years because of how Frank Capparelle cares about his needs.
"He always takes care of the problem whatever it is," emphasizes Richard, formerly the owner of a termite and pest control company. "He is very prompt, getting back to me within 12 hours of a phone call, and he has never lied to me. He will always research the best deal for me."
Richard and his wife, Yvonne, have their homeowners and auto insurance coverage handled by AnCap and he recalls a few times showing Frank what he considered a "better quote."
"Frank sat me down and we compared apples to apples...it wasn't the coverage that I needed. He never leaves a stone unturned. I'm a guy of a million questions and a stickler on details. I want an answer immediately.
"I can't say enough about the guy. He's always there for me. And he always has good advice for me!" |

Home Evaluation |
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety in 2009, there was a property crime committed every 2 minutes and 16 seconds. A burglary occurred every 10 minutes and 12 seconds, Theft/ Larceny occurred every 3 minutes and 26 seconds. The value of stolen property in 2009 was $411,420,866!
Although we all seem to know many ways to protect our homes people are becoming victims of property crime. Common deterrents are locking the doors , getting an alarm system, purchasing a safe to keep your valuable in, and installing outside motion lights.
Sometimes no matter what you do there are determined burglars that are going to do what it takes to get into your home. Here are some tips to help you recover or replace your belongings.
· Make a list of your belongings. Include descriptions, and serial numbers if possible. Keep receipts for the more expensive items.
· Walk through your home with a video camera or a regular camera . Don't forget the closets, cabinets, and drawers.
· Keep a copy of your inventory and video or photos elsewhere; such as at your place of work or with a relative.
· If possible, engrave any valuables. This is very helpful in an attempt to recover collectables and your personal property.
· Make sure that your home coverage is adequate. There are schedules that you can add for most valuable items.
· Of course, if you are a renter ,this is just as important. |

The History of AnCap |
Frank Capparelle, Sr. obtained his Life Insurance license in 1975 and was hired by a small company to be their National Sales Director. He enjoyed his job; however, he found the travel to be too hard with a wife and small child at home. It was at this time that he left the company and decided to become an agent. After five weeks, he became a supervisor and after nine months, he went out and opened up his own life insurance agency. In 1982, he reviewed his business plan and felt that homeowners and auto insurance were also important to his clients. He got his Property & Casualty License and began writing those policies.
In 1983, Frank incorporated the agency and was joined by his wife, Ann and named the agency AnCap after her.
AnCap Insurance continued to grow year after year. In 1995 Frank Jr. joined the agency as the Commercial Lines agent for our business clients.
Since then we have added three more valued employees to the office. In personal lines we have Cara who has been with us for 10 years. In commercial lines, we have Erin who has been with us for 5 years. In Life & Health, we have Heather who has been with us for 2 years.
We thank all of our wonderful clients who help us grow each and every year! |
