OperaOggiNY presents: Rossini's Barber of Seville Sunday, September 2th 4:00 p.m.
OperaOggiNY offers this comic masterpiece with exceptional artists whose mission it is to connect with new audiences. As soon as the overture of this perennial favorite begins, it is clear that Rossini's music is some of the most well-known and most accessible in all of opera.
We are pleased to bring this opera to the Blackstone Memorial Library with Branford's very own Michael McAvoy in the title role of the barber, Figaro. Tickets are $20. For more information, email tkts@operaogginy.com or visit www.operaogginy.info.
The Barber of Seville tells the story of the triumph of love over adversity with the help of a wily wing man and a good helping of disguises, misunderstandings and hilarity. This opera is surely one of the best by which to introduce newcomers to this incredible art form.
Featuring:
Michael McAvoy - Figaro
Sonya Rice - Rosina
Raphael Treiner - Count Almaviva
Jacopo Buora - Dr. Bartolo
Dominique Rosoff - Basilio
Elizabeth Moulton - Berta
