Greetings Sombrero Time Families!

Our theme this week is the kitchen, so we will be talking about kitchen furnishings and, of course, food!  We will learn a short dialogue about which foods Conejito (Little Rabbit) would like to eat.  Students will also be talking about what foods they like and don't like. 


Vocabulary

la comida...food
el pollo...chicken
la sopa...soup
la fruta...fruit
las papas...potatoes
la ensalada...salad
las verduras...vegetables
el arroz...rice
la zanahoria...carrots
las uvas...grapes
la hamburguesa...hamburger
los guisantes...peas

Dialogue

Ask students to identify an object or food asking
¿Dónde está _(la leche)__?...Where is __(the milk)__?

Ask students if they like or dislike certain foods (notice the form of the verb gusta/gustan depends on the food, singular /plural):
        ¿Te gusta _(el arroz)_?  ...Do you like __(rice)__?
        No, no  me gusta _(el arroz)__... No, I don't like rice
Target words

cocinado...cooked    No me gustan las verduras cocinadas...I don't like cooked vegetables.

crudo...raw        Me gustan las zanahorias crudas....I like raw carrots
