Spanish 1

This week students will work together to compose and recite a Valentine's poem as they learn and practice using their newest language skills.  We will discuss the upcoming Holiday, play some games incorporating our new vocabulary, and create Valentine's cards reflecting what we have been learning.   
Vocabulary

el abrazo...hug
el amor...love
el beso...kiss
el corazón...heart
los dulces...candy
las flores...flowers
el poema...poem
"Te amo."  or "Te quiero."... "I love you."

Target Words

dulce...sweet        El chocolate es dulce...The chocolate is sweet.
amargo...bitter/sour        Los limones son amargos...The lemons are sour.

Dialogue

These questions might help you start a conversation with your student:

Ask:   ¿Qué te gusta dar a tu mamá?...What do you like to give your mom?
A mí me gusta darla un besito. . . . I like to give her a kiss.


Ask students to identify an object asking ¿Dónde está/n ___(los dulces)__?...Where is/are __(the candy)__?   Los dulces están en la casa. . . The sweets are in the house
