Is there any way to save the people of Ember? No one knows. But Lina has found a puzzling document & Doon has made some discoveries in the Pipeworks. With these clues, they start their search.
Will you be part of this search? If you'd like to be, register & pick up The City of Ember beginning Monday, Oct. 11th and we'll find out the answers on Wednesday, Nov.10.

November Programs
& News!
November is the month when cold weather starts to take hold, the trees have lost their leaves and days really begin to feel shorter. On the flip side it is time to start using the woodstove or fireplace, curling up with a good book, or simmering a kettle of soup on the stove. It is also time to think about Thanksgiving, planning time off from work or school, Thanksgiving meals, time spent with family & friends and of course Football.
We have some great programs scheduled for this month that hopefully will fit into your plans. The Cold Case Unit from New Hampshire will discuss their program and cases. Do you have family artifacts that you would like to preserve for future generations, then come to Preserving Memories : Maintaining Family Photos, Personal Papers, and Memorabilia with Melissa Mannon. As always the Acoustic Cafe will be held this month with guest singers Ivan Murray & Anna Falkenau, direct from County Galway, Ireland.
This month in honor of National Gaming day (11/13) the library will be hosting two fun programs, Wii Gaming for Seniors and Teen Gaming. The Wii Gaming for Seniors program will include Wii games but also some board games such as scrabble, check out the details and save the date.
The Children's Room is excited to annouced the return of the Chocolate Lover's Raffle coming in November, keep your eyes open for more details. In December they have a free family concert planned featuring Steve Blunt, take a look and mark your calendar. The Paws to Read program will continue this month along with Holiday Card Making and story times.

 Spotlight on Technology
"Credo Reference"
Core reference collection of e-books, now offered at the Wadleigh Library.
We are very excited to introduce a brand new reference source called Credo Reference. Credo Reference is a general reference tool offering 100 highly-regarded E-Book titles covering every major subject.
Credo Reference is not a database subscription, but rather a collection of 100 reference books, we have chosen, from publishers such as Marquis Who's Who, Harvard University Press, Houghton Mifflin, Merriam-Webster, Cambridge University Press, just to name a few.
The Bridgeman Art Library Archive provides over 35,000 full-color art images and the National Gallery Collection over 2,000 full-color art images.
In addition to accessing the 100 E-Books, the Credo Reference platform allows the user to seamlessly search other resources in the library, including the library catalog, periodical resources, specialized databases and more.
| | Wadleigh Library Credo Reference Home Page |
With our Credo Reference subscription we are able to provide free access to the Milford High School. Over the next month we will be working with high school representatives, setting up direct access from the high school. To promote community outreach, Credo offered this opportunity to extend our resources beyond the four walls of the library. We look forward to working with the High School Librarians, Teachers and Students to promote this valuable new resource.
You can find credo reference by going to the Wadleigh Library Website and clicking on theOnline Resources tab. Scroll to the bottom and you will see the Credo Reference Logo and search box. When accessing the database from outside the library you will be prompted for your library card bar code. If you have any questions on the use of this new resource or how to access it, as always please give us a call, 673-2408 or drop us an email we'd be happy to assist.
Each month we spotlight one of the many electronic resources available in the Wadleigh Library. Many patrons don't realize we provide numerous resources that are not in book format. We hope you find this information helpful and as always we are here to assist you with these resources. |
