Meet New RVCC Tenant:
Rose Valentino has moved into the Center with great energy and style. Her studio is next door to Susan Gorman's and includes a glorious boutique of one-of-a-kind wearables. Be sure to stop in next time you're at the Center. (She also does alternations!)
"Rosalba Valentino Designs was formed in 2003 to create
clothing and accessories that adopt an individualistic and artistic approach to
style with an emphasis on sustainable goods and "slow fashion" methods.
outward appearance is a unique opportunity for self-expression and symbolic
persuasion. I create one-of-a-kind
pieces that reflect the diversity of inspiration in my work-the natural world,
storytelling and mythology, music, movies and dance. Colors, patterns, unusual materials and inventive techniques
combine to make statement pieces for a wider range of expression through
dress. Re-purposing and creative
sourcing are integral methods to my work. My materials range from vintage goods to fine silks and woolens and most
recently, the addition of "green" fabrics like hemp, soy, and organic versions
of the wonderful cottons, linens and jerseys so familiar to us.
I have designed for theater, dance performance,
weddings, holidays, and created custom pieces for a wide variety of clients encompassing
an array of styles and tastes. I

Like to flip pancakes?
The much-loved and well-attended monthly pancake breakfast at RVCC
is in need of some volunteers. A morning in the RVCC kitchen on the first Saturday of the month is a highly recommended way to support the community center ... and have fun!
This monthly program helps to fund general operation and program costs at RVCC.
So if you are a regular participant of the breakfasts,
consider being an occasional volunteer.
